2-DAY MASTER COPY DRAWING WORKSHOP
CALIFORNIA ART INSTITUTE
SATURDAY & SUNDAY : MARCH 23 & 24
AFTER JACOPO PONTORMO
This workshop will provide students an opportunity to study
the principles of human structure
as revealed in the drawings of the Masters of the past. I will encourage
students to think schematically & structurally. After drawing a very
simple block-in, comprised of correct tilts and distances, we will get right
into the special character of each structure. We will discuss certain form
attitudes, triangular configurations, and the dynamic structuring of space. In
addition: weight and the effects of gravity, thrust & counterthrust, gesture,
reciprocal action, continuity & discreteness, locomotion, articulation, and
foreshortening. Come join me for an action-packed two-day Intensive.
