You mean recently? I received an email from you, maybe 2 months ago. Not sure if you got my reply either :) In any case, you can reach me at t.vandewouwer@gmail.com Hope you're well!
Love seeing your sketches. Wonderful realism one moment and then experimental and unusual but still showing the form only a very good artist can accomplish.
Hi David~ Yes…a blind contour drawing is a disciplined drawing exercise that helps to develop eye-hand coordination…you lay your drawing instrument on the surface of the paper, do not look at the paper while you are drawing, and learn to move your eye slowly over the contour of the subject while your hand moves in time with your eyes movements…it is a slow, analytical, and sensual line…it seems counterintuitive, but it is not actually…you develop EYE-MIND-HAND skills, which is the beginning of real technical facility in draughtsmanship…
These sketches are fascinating and beautiful. Thank you for showing your experimental work.
ReplyDeleteThese look awesome Ryan! I love the experimentation. I need to do more of it myself. Keep posting so we can see more.
